Declare
Declare is an internationally recognized transparency platform to disclose and discover healthy building products. As the only product label that combines material transparency and the Living Building Challenge Red List, distilling intricate chemical ingredient information into a comprehensible label and screening it against the Red List.
LEED
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a widely recognized green building certification system. It serves as a benchmark for high-performance buildings that prioritize in reducing the environmental impact, enhancing occupant health, and fostering resource-efficient practices. At aaline, we can design and produce lighting solutions that work with LEED certifications.
B Corp
aaline is the first and only Certified B Corporation (B Corp) lighting company in Canada. Certified B Corporations are for-profit companies dedicated to using business as a force for good. They meet the highest verified standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability to all of their stakeholders. Unlike traditional corporations, B Corps are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on all stakeholders: customers, workers, communities, and the environment.
Bullfrog Energy
We have decided to Bullfrog Power® our facility with green electricity and gas. We are reducing our organization’s energy pollution, supporting community-based renewable energy projects in our region and across Canada, and helping lead the way to a renewably powered future.
Carbon Negative Materials
Wood by nature is a carbon sink, storing the atmosphere’s CO2 and reducing greenhouse gases. As a Canadian manufacturer, we take pride in innovating with one of our country’s highly sought after natural resources. Relying on local supply-chain, contributes to our local economy and reduces our carbon footprint on transportation. Our wood is supplied and milled under 50KM from our factory.
Zero Plastic Acoustics
We use only 100% Natural Acoustic Felt, no plastics. 448 million tons of plastic are produced each year, building and construction contributing 72 million tons. Being familiar with the challenges of waste management in the construction industry, we have chosen to focus on natural materials and manufacture respecting the environment.
Carbon Footprint Analysis
In order to understand our impact on the environment, the aaline team has constructed a system for estimating the carbon footprint of each of our products, inspired by ISO 14067:2018 and GHG Protocol.
