the role
Working closely with our design and production teams, you will learn the ins and outs of each product and project in detail to prepare shop drawings for clients, develop 3D models and physical prototypes for new products, and support the design team with daily and future projects. This role is for a versatile candidate who can work across 3D modelling software, technical drawings/documentation, BOM management, 3D renderings, physical prototyping, and graphic design.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Achieved a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent trade experience in Industrial Design or similar
1-2 years working in a similar design role (required)
Experience working in Fusion360 (required)
Experience working with BOM management
Experience working with client-based projects
Physical prototyping from concepts to working models
Creative eye for aesthetics and unique visuals
Capable of reading and generating technical drawings
You are a fast learner and welcome new challenges
You are self-organized and detail-oriented
You are a team player and will take leadership to initiate & coordinate
You are goal-oriented and capable of achieving deadlines
Assets:
Working with table-driven design
Experience in architectural design or architectural lighting
Experience in Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
Experience in professional 3D rendering software (Keyshot, D5, etc.)
Experience in Rhino3D
Basic coding knowledge
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
Employment Type: Full time 1 year (12-month) contract position with WSIB covered by the company
